Victoria's Four Selective Entry High Schools
Victoria has four fully selective government high schools: Melbourne High School (boys), Mac.Robertson Girls' High School (girls), and the co-educational Nossal High School and Suzanne Cory High School. All four select students through the same ACER exam sat in Year 8 - one application and one test covers every school.

Entry to every school is through the Selective Entry High School exam, administered by ACER, with the main intake at Year 9.

Melbourne High School is Victoria's oldest selective entry high school: an academically selective school for boys in South Yarra, enrolling Years 9–12. Entry is through the ACER Selective Entry High School exam, sat in Year 8, and competition for places is the strongest of all four Victorian selective schools.

Mac.Robertson Girls' High School (MacRob) is Victoria's academically selective school for girls, located on Kings Way near the Melbourne CBD and enrolling Years 9–12. Entry is through the ACER Selective Entry High School exam sat in Year 8, and MacRob regularly tops Victorian VCE rankings.

Nossal High School is a co-educational selective entry high school in Berwick, serving Melbourne's south-east and enrolling Years 9–12. It was Victoria's first fully selective co-educational school, and entry is through the ACER Selective Entry High School exam sat in Year 8.
